Poly Drum
Plastic drums are ideal for a wide variety of applications and uses, including:
- Paint, Inks and Dyes
- Industrial Chemicals
- Hazardous Materials
- Food and Flavorings
Plastic drums are available in a range of open top and closed top sizes. Sizes range from 30 gallons to 57 gallons. Plastic drums are made from an FDA approved resin so they can be used for most flavorings, food and food additive products.
Our open top plastic drums will often be referred to as “openhead drums” and can be used to store and transport various solid and liquid products. Openhead drums come with a liquid tight cover with a clamping lock to prevent product leakage.
Closed top (closedhead/tighthead) drums come with various sizes and styles of flange openings. Closedhead drums range in size from 30 to 55 gallons. The main advantage a closedhead plastic drum has over an openhead is that it can store and transport the more dangerous hazardous materials.
Openhead and closedhead HDPE drums are both available as UN rated for hazardous materials and hazardous waste as well as non UN. Openhead drums can ship packaging group II and III materials while some closedheads are rated to ship packaging group I, II and III.
C.L. Smith stocks drums for sale in both openhead and closedhead steel drums. They are stocked in blue, white and natural. Although minimum order quantities are required, custom colors are available for all styles of poly drums.
